About
My work focuses on the American economist Hyman P. Minsky (1919-1996), whose hypothesis of financial instability was mobilized to explain the subprime crisis. My thesis seeks to explore Minsky’s alternative conception of the financial system, showing how it fits into various discussions shaking the macroeconomy of the time, such as the debate between the monetarists and the Keynesians in the 1960s and 1970s.
I first seek to understand the place Minsky occupied during his career among economists interested in monetary and financial issues. This is why I am interested in the work Minsky produced for the Commission on Money and Credit and for the Fed.
